Calls from Motorola DynaTAC used to charge about 10 hours. It took about 15 years to make the phone.

The Motorola DynaTac 8000X smartphone was priced at around $3,995 at the time, which is almost 3 times more expensive than today's most expensive phone, the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

On this special day today, Motorola said, they are constantly emphasizing on innovation. That is why the company was able to unveil the world's first smartphone. They also unveiled the world's first clamshell smartphone with 5G connectivity.  Recently, Motorola launched a rollable concept device also.
